"Will You Be in My Chorus...?"
I spent some time this week thinking about what my life was all about – what all my efforts and time were going toward. I can't say I've got it figured out. But I can tell you where I am at this point, and that I have great peace knowing what I do indeed know. So here goes…
I can honestly say that it is my privilege and calling to accompany a chorus in belief and awe. That is, to better understand the creator and his blessings, work, grace, and unending love. It is my life's goal to never interrupt that chorus from its greatest utterance, but rather conduct and usher in the trueness of what is sung.
My song is honest; perhaps too brutally honest at times. But it is in my art, my creation, my song, my honesty and sincerity that I hope will transform, inspire, and cultivate a better understanding of my creator and God.
What I can say as my desire is to never do this alone. If I do, I have failed. Life is experience - and this experience is eternal. Experience, I believe, is to be done in true community through generosity, accountability, mercy, and love. Experience isn't a one night stand of emotion and action. Rather, it's a lifetime of close interaction; each pushing one-another to greater purpose and calling. As iron sharpens iron, experience too sharpens oneself.
This is where I am today - this week, this month. I cannot say I have always been here or will always remain. But today, I can be honest with you and say this, "will you be in my chorus?"
