.::writers, publishers, and composers welcome::.

So what is it that insipres you to do what you do? What can change an ordinary day into one that results a piece of art? What elements must take place for that inspiration to cultivate music?

If you're like me, its completely random. Out of nowhere, I can hear a phrase or see something that totally inspires me and moves me to art. It's like I'm hit with a ton of bricks and I can settle until I've expressed the feelings inside in their draft (or complete) form. Often times, someone will be speaking and a single line will move me to an entire symphony of sounds. That symphony can't be let go until something is done with it either.

A nicety of mine is that I have an in-house studio, so I can write as I am inspired. I write exclusively by improv anyway, so this convienience is especially crutial! So when I can't get a riff or melody out of my mind, I record it. I then mull it and make it bigger, or smaller, depending on what it needs. I tend to leave it as an ensemble of violins and strings. But the product of my inspiration is done and unique to anything I can feel from any other experience.

The final product of the inspiration is done and closure is brought to the ideation.

That's how I work. You?

What happens with me is that, being a painter, I notice things that nobody else does. It's generally in the times that I'm thinking how I'd paint something that I become a part of the scenery.

When I'm in this state of mind and close my eyes, my mind focuses on the sounds. I then am able to pick out rhythyms and small melodies that seem everyday, but eventually become a concerto or whatever I feel like.
