October 2007

An old friend

October 25, 2007 11:37

After a tragic audition in which I was screwed over, I took a HUGE break from playing the violin. I couldn't bring myself to do anything concerning it.

Monday night I had a dream about the violin. I don't remember a thing about it, but I woke up needing to play. It was an amazing feeling. I haven't played for soo long; I was pretty clumsy. My callouses are non-existent now, which is irritating as well as painful. It's amazing how things can come back to you, though. I was surprised that I did so well...not that it was good or anything. It really has been a long, long time.

So, now I'm on a music-high. I'm going to join the all-university orchestra next semester and try out and hopefully get into the big symphony in the fall. I suppose I could try out for the big one in the spring... it would take a lot more time than I have, though, because they would probably want an audition before winter break... Bah. We'll see. In any case, I wanted to let you know that I'm playing again and it's the greatest thing in the world. <3
