Before the A string came to pitch on the peg it snapped where it passes through the tailpiece.
Sent an email to the maker who had posted them to me but no reply.
Last week, put a new trio of Tricolores G, D and A on my other violin with a Warchal E.
Before the A came to pitch, it snapped where it passes through the tailpiece, so sent another email to the maker who had sent me the A string.
The reply was the person there has never had any confidence in the gut/aluminium A string which is problematic and if I had asked before buying it, I would have been told that.
In other words, the potential buyer has to question the manufacturer about the quality of his produce.
I was also told that if I had said something about the first A string, something would have been done, like a refund or a pure gut replacement, but as I said, that email was ignored.
These strings are not your dime a dozen efforts that kids start with and so far as I am concerned, the manufacturer can restore them to the animal they were taken from by the most appropriate orifice.
