birthday... Easter... violin... job...

April 19, 2006 at 2:36 PM

It was my birthday a few days ago. This year I received one present from a friend (a DVD) and a card from my family with "Dear William" and a bunch of signatures. Not very thoughtful but hey, at least they remembered.

I got a Chocolate Easter egg this year for the first time. Though, I ate it before Easter came. Then I watched Moses on TV but didn't get see the 2nd part on the following day because I got sent to work in Sydney for a few days. They sure make full use of me during my 4-week notice period.

I'm beginning to complain at my own progression with the violin. Although I've spent more hours practising in the past month, I don't see much progression other than memorising notes. My tone is scratchy and undecided. My intonation comes and go. There must be something wrong with the way I am practising... need to have a little counselling chat with my teacher this Saturday.

Last week I loved my violin. This week, I'm not sure if it's me or her but we just couldn't connect.

Next Friday will be my last day at my current job. The day pass by easily when you don't really care or stress about work. In the past, the leavers always get a moment where all colleagues gather around to say all the nice things about you and say goodbye, and then wait for your speech. What will I say? "Thanks. Bye."

After 10 job interviews in the past 2 weeks, it is still coming. You go talk to the recruitment agents, they submit your resume to the employers, the employers ask for an interview, then arrange for 2nd interview, for a large company there may be a 3rd interview... I'm now only at my first interviews stage. Gosh! Looking for a job is a full-time job itself. I need a holiday.

I'll just chill out and watch my present (the DVD).

Happy birthday and good luck.
I know how hard it is to find a good job. Getting a good intonation and a decided tone must also be hard, in my case I'm already happy if I can play the notes...

Thanks!

Once you can get the notes, the next thing you'll want to do more. It's never enough.

John
Fingers crossed... Let's hope so!

Hey, I've been looking for a job for more than four years, and I'm still unemployed. I really can't feel sorry for you.
