Marylou Speaker Churchill died yesterday. In her career as principal second violinist of the Boston Symphony, and as a sought-after teacher, she led a life of beauty that profoundly changed the lives of those she touched. She lived by maxims as simple as they were profound: "Begin with joy," and "Perfect love casteth out fear." Her friends were also her students in this, and are humbled by her example.
