October 2004
Yesterday I had a concert for my Philharmonic and Philharmonic Chamber Orchestras. Having had a lot more time with the Chamber and a lot less people the Chamber actually pulled off with a quite organized program. We played Pavane for a Dead Princess by Ravel and two movements from Rossini's Sinfonietta from the String Sonatas. In contrast however, the Philharmonic who maybe had five or so rehearsals barely made it through. And that was only playing two pieces, not the overture from Pirates of Penzance. We ended up "playing" Hopak by Mussorgsky and the Turkish March by Beethoven. All in all I could tell My conductor was a bit upset no matter how hard he fought to hide it. So I cleaning left the stage wished my cellist friend good luck and packed up, then went to go listen to the Symphony. The Enigma Variations were very beautful. I really enjoyed them. The though the concert was nice (at least I enjoyed playing in the Chamber and listening to the Symphony.) I went home to quite an irritable family, did my chores and preceded to lock myself in my room. I spent some time with my vivaldi concerto. At then end I was able to play Movement I and II and half of III together and almost perfect. I was so tired I went to bed at 8:30 and then I got up at 5 and have spent 21 mins working on this and must go get ready for school.:(
At least Latin and Music Theory will be interesting today.
