Lipinski Concerto

February 16, 2010 at 1:25 AM

2 weeks in with the Lipinski and I still feel good about it. It really just feels like an etude to me, I've heard recordings and I know it can sound musical, but I'm still trying to get the notes into my head before I start playing around with interpretation. I'm working on memorizing the beginning to B and still learning B through D. That's all for now.

I no nothing about Lipinsky very unfourtunately... but one morning, I woke up hearing a wonderful violin piece... It was my brother who randomly opened the radio at 5:30 am...  I almost creeped towards the radio still sleepy to hear it since it sounded divine and learn it was Rondo alla Pollaca by Carol Lipinsky. I didn't heard this wonder since even when I go on youtube but it left a beautiful memory...  Curious to know if I would steel feel the same about it lol

So I imagine the concerto is as nice (or is Rondo alla Pollaca the concerto???)

Good luck!

I think it's very beautiful for the most part if you let the virtuosity actually take a second seat to the music.

Just went on Youtube. The 2nd concerto, as always, is there.  But "Rondo alla pollaca" is in the first violin concerto... This is really rare.  There is not many players who recorded it either in the cd sales.  I think 2nd is more virtuosic. They say "millitaire".

Good luck!
