Well, it HAS been a long time!
And behold, not much new has happened. Except that I passed both of my college courses with A's (I would've made dean's list if I would've been a full-time student!) and won second place in the Southwest Florida Young Artists Competition, which was lovely. I got a letter in the mail from From the Top too. One of those horrible "The competition was very intense this year and it was very hard for the judges to make a decision, and you just didn't make the cut this year" letters. I.e. "You suck, try again next year." Which was a little disappointing, but I didn't expect to win anything. And I can do it again this year.
On a sadder note, I found out that one of my old violin teachers, the one I had from the Etude in Book one through Book 4, had a bad stroke and will never be able to play again. One of my old friends from the ol' Conquest Trio (we played dozens of gigs together when we where all eight years old through twelve) who said she visited him now and then, but his short-term memory is gone. His health was never veyr good...in fact, the last time I saw him, the trio was playing a wedding reception- our last gig together- and he had gone to the emergency room the night before for pneumonia...and he came the next morning to hear us play one last time....please keep Mr. Borg in your prayers and thoughts...
Finally, I convinced my eleven-year-old brother- who, although first highly reluctant became quite enthusiastic- to take some pictures of me. See what you think of my latest profile pic...I think it looks really neat. :-)

Good grief! It has been a long time! That pic is awesome :)
I'm sorry about your old violin teacher.

Wait, people don't really do that, right? Do you think I shouldn't use the same accompanist for that reason, Jim?
