When it rains, it pours....But when the suns shines, it seems all the brighter!

March 27, 2006 at 3:34 PM

Well, the thing I've been praying for for MONTHS finally happened:
I was accepted to Brevard Music Center for this summer, acccompanied by a generous scholarship of merit and the maximum amount of "work study" I can get. I am absolutely positively thrilled! It's not for certain I can go; my parents would still have to scrape some money together (a substance that has been running on the low side, due to the arrival of a new person and the fact that teachers just don't make millions, even in Naples, Florida), but it's about 90% positive! If any of you have an extra hundred, or two, please consider.
I got the notification email just minutes before I left for orchestra, and I was so pleased and happy that I still had a smile on my face when I walked out of rehearsal (this is an amazing feat). Yesterday was, purely put, awesome! Orchestra rehearsal went well, and the sun was shining, and my solos were great, and we got cheesy potato chips from the store. Today, God must've decided that I had it a little too good, so he had my plastic ziplock bag break (it popped a seam), which released a scalding hot just-microwaved muffin on my foot (and all over the sidewalk). I was running late, so I left it. Sorry, clean-up people.
But now, I'm still happy, cause I got into the music camp of my choice, even with a crappy audition! And I'm the youngest age accepted! AND all the catering and library work i did last year (for free...*grmubles*) will pay off in the form of experience for work study! IAMHAPPYHAPPYHAPPY! Oh, AND, I get to see the most amazing guy in the world in half an hour. AND I get to go to a concert of two prodigees tomorrow evening, paid for by the university, and driven there by someone else. AND it's a concert featuring two of th emost beautiful pieces ever written; Mendelssohn Vln. Concerto and Chopin Pno. Concerto no. 1! AND I have a lesson today! AND I get semi-spring break this week (email me for more details).

You know, going through periods of frustration makes the smallest things seem absolutely fabulous! Well, getting into summer camp is no small thing (for me). I'm so joyful I could pop!
Even if I didn't get my cherry chocolate muffin this morning.
Well, my foot got it. *eyes remnants of scalding chocolate chips that burned foot*
But I'm too psyched to care!

Toodles, and have a fantabulous day!
