Post-Thanksgiving Madness

November 26, 2005 at 2:29 AM

Here I go complaining again...

I'm fourteen and my hair is thinning. My beautiful long illustrious hair that I cannot BEAR to chop more than seven inches of is starting to thin. Does anyone know how to cure that? It's more than my hair, it's sorta my trademark (you have to know me to understand...). That sounds sick, but it's true. Maybe an avocado mask?

The day after Thanksgiving is almost as good as thanksgiving. Today I didn't even change out of my pajamas. At all. I ate a bowl of olives and pickles, and turkey, and stuffing, and mashed potatoes. And watched Babette's Feast. Good movie.
Now I'm eating cranberry walnut pie and ice cream.

Took a Biology test too.
On nutrition.
I'm wondering if I have a vitamin deficiency that's causing me to lose hair. Hm.

Oh yeah. This is a VIOLIN website. So I guess I should say something about violin today, no?

I compiled a list of yoga moves that are good for violinists. Now I need to mix and match to make some routines. Hm.....

I read about one person who was losing their hair had some weird kind of disease...but don't worry I don't think you have it. After I got back from camp, I was finding your hair in my stuff for a week! It was quite amusing, really.

Maybe you should go to a doctor JIC...

I lose a lot of hair every winter because of thyroid issues.

Years ago I told my doctor that my hair was thinning. She sent me to see an endocrinologist, who ran a lot of expensive tests on me and couldn't find anything wrong.

Now back to the cranberry walnut pie and ice cream. That's a great thing to eat after your biology test on nutrition. I think I'll go have some ice cream, too, now.

But my hair is actually THINNING. I've always shedded a lot of hair, but it's starting to show. It's not as thick as it use to be...

I know someone who started losing hair because of a calcium imbalence caused by a parathyroid problem - you should probably consider getting some knowledgable opinions...

Stress can cause your hair to fall out/thin. Take Carley's advice and RELAX. Poor nutrition is also bad for your hair. Ice cream is all well and good, but it might be time to get back into a (relatively) healthy eating routine. ; ) That's where the Biology comes in.

Actually, I eat a very balanced diet. Even at S.E. I ate very healthily, and generally at home, I'm considered a health nut. I gerally eat grape nuts for breakfast, a turkey sandwich and fruit for lunch, and ALWAYS one or two veggies with dinner.

So I don't think that's the problem (a little ice cream now and then won't kill me.), but stress probably is. I'm working on that though. :)
