The Osaka Int. Music Competition Grand Prix goes to a Viennese Violinist

October 27, 2007 15:17

Under the guiding hand of Prof. Michael Frischenschlgaer, the four young musicians Tymur Melnyk, Cong Cong Wang, Marie Spaemann and Barnaba Popravsky gave concerts as a quartet, trio, duo and with solo pieces throughout Japan.

The audience of the Asahikawa Violin Seminar, the Nippon Foundation and Austrian Embassy in Tokyo and the University of Music in Tokushima gave a warm welcome for the talents and always demanded a couple of encores.

Tymur additionally attended the Osaka International Music Competition straight after the tour and received, among 800 participants, the Grand Prix and the Audience Award.
