I have a new email address in case anyone is trying to get a hold of me

scottbos@lycos.com

Been practicing the usual Bach and Mozart and its going well.

Today Im creating a database for my mom and listening now to Kang play Sibelius Serenades, wonderful. Was looking over Hilary Hahn's blog and admiring the photo of the Cologne Cathedral and trying to imagine her playing Spohr 8 (I have Morini's recording)... first there was Joachim and Kreisler then there was Oistrakh and Perlman and for me, Hilary is equally expressive and carrying on the tradition of shying away from displays of virtuosity and focusing on musicality, expression and speaking with every note. I really like her new haircut and imagining what her new cd of Elgar and Vaughan Williams will sound like (finally she made a reasonable pairing of concertos).

I eventually decided to do some cd shopping while I was at it:

Vieuxtemps Cello sonatas

Beriot: 3 Duos Concertants For 2 Violins

Oliveira plays Rautavaara

Items on my list I didnt buy include: Medtner Violin Sonatas, Jasper Wood plays Stravinsky, and the new Szigeti DVD featuring Prok Sonata 2 (among other clips), yum.

I think Ill make some Szigeti spagetti for dinner
:)

Cheers,
Scott (muggle violinist)
