Preliminary Announcement of Youth Composition/Songwriter Competition

I want to get this announcement posted to start giving folks a heads up and get the word out even though details for 1st place winners are not finalized.
ViolettesbyBecky is preparing to hold our 2nd Annual Composition/Songwriter Competition. This year, for judging and prizes we will have two separate divisions for composition and songwriting, and each division will be separated into 2 age groups between 10 and 17 (by Feb. 14, 2015).
First Place prizes for the older division will be $100, but we are also working on getting it performed on the radio as part of the prize. If you have a connection with a radio station, and could help with this, I would appreciate any help. For the remaining prize levels, we have gift certificates for sheet music from Performers Music in Chicago and Sheet Music Plus.
Entries will be due on Feb. 14, and results announced on April 15. (Registration due by Dec. 1, 2014)
The piece must be under 5 minutes. The rules are minimal to make it easier to enter. Entries consist of a score and an MP-3 or You tube of the music. If you know a young person who would be able to enter if they had a mentor, please contact www.ViolettesbyBecky.com. We can set them up with one.
