A Reflection of Stuff I've Learned with my former teacher of five years...
January 10, 2009 at 3:22 AM
This is my first blog entry so hopefully it is coherent and worthwhile.
My private violin teacher of the past five years (I am currently a junior) ever since sixth grade is retiring to Texas and Thursday was my last lesson with him. I worked a little on Handel's third sonata, nothing too special, just another ordinary lesson. My parents and I got back from dinner with him five or so minutes ago. In the car I was thinking of all the things I have learned with him over the past five years. Here is my list-
- Strictly Strings- all three books
- Duets for two violins-all three
- Some Sevcik
- Vivaldi- Concerto in A minor, Concerto for two violins
- Haydn Violin Concerto in G Major
- Bach, Concerto in A minor, second movement
- Bach, Concerto in E major, first and second movement
- Meditation from Thais
- Handel Sonata in F Major, first movement
- Countless All-County and Tri-County events
- The Swan
- Bach Concerto for two violins first and second movements
I know this list may seem short for five years but it probably isn't everything I've done...
Thanks Mr. Dave. Have a great time enjoying retirement in Texas!
