Twinkle, the plastic variation; Etude with a dash of Elmo

My before school Suzuki classes meet in the school media center. Yesterday, while I was teaching my second class, student helpers began unwrapping/unwinding mountains of plastic wrap from six wireless computer carts. Their synchronized unwrapping which went on for minutes was deafeningly loud. This was followed by several staff members having loud conversations to talk over my students. Then, after school officially started, I had to continue teaching in the library, as the auditorium (my official space) was taken up by an all day meeting. So, I start my next class of Suzuki students. We are getting ready to tackle Etude when in comes a fist grade class. Since I am holding class, the media specialists determine that instead of reading to that class that it would be better to show them Sesame Street instead. And so it went...it's a good thing that Monday is a day off school!
