Rhapsody Music Net Site from NY

July 3, 2007 at 4:48 PM

Two weeks ago I got an e-mail from Rhapsody saying for me to please write my Rep. in the U.S. Congress and lobby against a new law to raise Rhapsody's royalty payments which would surely put them out of business.

Yesterday, I got an e-mail telling me I could save $20 per year if I made an annual payment right away.

What a clip joint! Lets see, I sign up for a year and they go out of business next month - Dah, how does that save me $20.00?

A lot of online free music providers will be seriously affected by the new royalty legislation. I've received numerous pleas to contact my Congressional reps about this. I don't know whether the law has passed yet. If it has, many Internet music providers will have to charge to listen or go off the air. I think it's terrible.
