Well, I think that its high time that I updated my Blog, so here we go. Well, the playing is going okay, im learning wieniawski's second concerto. I really love the romance, and the second movement is coming along nicely, although I havent got all the passages up to speed yet. The only problems that im having are the octaves, im playing 1-4 all the time, but on some passages in the 1st movement I just can seem to speed it up and keep it in tune. I have been practicing Kreutzer 25, and can play that quite quickly and still in tune, but it doesnt seem to help much. I think that maybe I need to practice chromatic octaves more, all over the fingerboard. Such hard work! The double stops seem to come pretty eaily, its just those nasty octaves. Grr! More practice is required....

Fingered octaves?

Akk there are so many errors in that blog, I was in such a rush. I dont play those semi-quavers in fingered octaves, I just miss out the top note, its not like anyone will notice at such speed. lol! But the third movement is coming along nicely, and I can play all the octaves in that spot on. Its just the longer octave passages in the first mov, I just need to practice them slowly for a few weeks I think. Its a new piece for me, with some nice new technical challenges :-) You are all invited to the concert when I have learnt it :-)
