I'm slacking on my performance recitals. I had one last night and totally avoided it. I think one of main reasons is because i haven't been practicing as often as i should. I have a ga-zillion things on my plate and my supposed love for music is taking a major hit because of those things. Additionally, those other things aren't very important to me, but are essential for my quality of life. For example, i have to work full-time to pay my bills and keep a roof over my head. Secondly, i have to cook, clean, and do house chores constantly. These activities restrict my time for 2 to 3 hours of piano practice every day. I need some help...The fact that you can practice for 2-3 hours a day is fantastic, actually. Between work and family time and occasional bouts of a social life, I sometimes get in an hour to an hour and a half, usually when I should be going to bed already.
I've really never worried about practicing more than that, which certainly contributes to the need to keep that day job. :) But that's a decision that I made, and I'm happy with it.
