My composition, Una Principessa, is one of the selected pieces being used in the Composer Resource session, put on by the Philharmonia Orchestra. Every quarter, they run a session with a set instrumentation and invite composers to write pieces for it. It gives composers an opportunity to hear their pieces played by professional musicians, and receive comments on them. This is something that I am looking forward to. I'm on in an hour and a half from now, but you need to be a priviledged user to watch. I believe videos will be available at a later date, and I will let you all know when it is available.

I also had a meeting with my boss today. I haven't had any shifts for the past three months, because they weren't ready for me to start working. But we've come to an agreement now that I can start preparing materials in order for the first e-mail send out to be top notch. I've got 8 hours a week to work, half in the shop, and the other 4 at home. This is something that I'm really pleased about, because it means I don't have to worry about my Saturdays being taken up by work and I can move my student around so that I can play basketball. YAY!

Apart from that, all is going well. Got some practice done today, which I'm pleased about. My Bach is getting there, still having troubles with the last chord in the first section, but I'll see my teacher on wednesday and hopefully that will help out and I'll have a better idea of how to approach it.

Congrats on winning your competition. It will be fun to hear it performed by the orchestra.

What kind of job do you have? Working at home would be great.

hi pauline,
i'm working at a music store in perth, organising their e-mail newsletter that they're setting up. The delay that has been happening is that the company that they are using to send out the e-mails is stuffing them around and taking ages to get it all set up. So of course, I couldn't be working until it has been set up and tested and all that, so all that needs to be done is that I come in and put it all together and send it out.
