ok, time for an update (i'm getting really slack in these):Spent the last 4 weeks learning Legende, which I now have pretty much under my fingers. I'll perform that at Instrumental Workshop in the next few weeks.
Today I had Concert Practice, which was interesting because I only realised that I had it a week before-hand, and my accompanist cancelled at the last minute, but the university had arranged a replacement which was cool.
Performed fairly well, many comments said that it was a strong performance, and I just need to conquer nerves a bit more. There was a memory lapse in the start of the recapitulation, which I couldn't recover from, but apart from that it was strong, especially my cadenza which had alot of double stoppings in it.
My accompanist, a specialist in Classical and Baroque music, said that the edition that I had been using was a poor copy and I should find an original and get the ornaments correct.
Next confirmed performance will be early december in a concert I am organising in which will hopefully be the start of a series of concerts for young performers to give them performance experience. I have 5 performers lined up for a 2 hour concert which will hopefully pay for itself.
I reported a while ago that i had chosen my final piece for the year, Weinawski, well that's not quite true as I now have a 20th century piece which I'll start work on soon, Suk's four pieces for piano and violin op 17. I'm not sure which one I'll be doing, as I haven't actually started them yet, but I'm looking forward to it, they look great
