Hello, I'm back from Vienna! Sorry I didn't update while I was there but internet was sketchy at times and I couldn't get the wireless to work. I saw some amazing performances at he Staatsoper, the Musikverein, and the Volksoper. I saw a ballet, La Nozze de Figaro, the Vienna Symphony (Tchaik 6 and a symphony by Schmitt), the Vienna Philharmonic (Petruchka, Dvorak 8), the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Carmen, Die Zauberflote, a violinist and pianist duo. I also went to the jazz club Porgy and Bess which was absolutely amazing. All of these concerts were absolutely amazing! We also saw the Bratislava Philharmonic (a very fiery sound). The orchestra's in Vienna were astounding, I've never heard such gorgeous sounds come from an orchestra. I also did a ton of sightseeing and got to know my way around Vienna very well. It was an amazing musical and personal experience which I will never forget and tell you more about later.Posted on January 29, 2007 at 10:42 PM

Colleen recommended it to me, and I was so glad she did!
Didn't you just love looking up at the ceiling of the Musikverein? And the Staatsoper is such an awesome building... love the architecture. Steeping inside is like visiting a palace!
You should post of picture of you and J.Strauss JR. The gold guy. In Stadtpark.
The Vienna Phil is really something! I heard them once when I was in Vienna, and I came back to a jealous violin teacher. ;)
AND TELL US ABOUT THE CAKES AND THE PASTRIES!!! Oh man, you better hurry up and update!
Oh nostalgia!
