This is more a question and a concern than an actual entry. I need some help. I am bringing back the beethoven concerto which i mentioned earlier. I started it a few months back (Januaryish) but we put it down after only 2 weeks of playing it and now my teacher wants to resume it. I started practincing it with a metronome at quarter=50 tonight and well, it didn't go too well.

If I played in tempo (if that happened, i can't hear the metronome and when i don't know a piece my counting is horrible because that is one of the few bad habbits I haven't quite brocken yet), my intonation would be horrible. If I play in tune my tempo would be off by about a beat and half. Do you think perhaps i'm not ready for the concerto if this is case or do you think it just needs more time with the metronome. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

I was thinking that if I wasn't ready for the beethoven that i should try bruch, viotti, mendelsohn, or st. saens 3rd. The bruch will be a tough sell for my teacher because it's her least favorite concerto. the mendelsohn might work since she likes it nearly as much as beethoven. I have done mozart 3, bach a minor concerto, and the bach sonata no. 1 adagio, i have worked on vieuxtemps yankee doodle, and some wienawski caprices, just to give you somewhat of an idea of my level of playing so you can make better suggestions and such.
