Gary Cox

I began playing violin a little over a year ago (at age 35), and currently have weekly lessons. I wanted to begin playing violin because it is a very versatile instrument as far as what styles can be played, though it is the first bowed instrument that I've ever tried to play.

Previously, I played clarinet and bass clarinet (and a little contra bass clarinet) in high school, but I stopped playing them about my sophomore year. I also played bagpipes for a couple of years, but was frustrated with the limits on what music can be played and also the difficulty of playing with others.
