John PlatenFountain Valley, CaliforniaJohn joined Violinist.com on Mar 11, 2007 I am a stock market analyst and a professor of economics who has been playing for about a 1 1/2 years, but because of health issues it amounts to less than a year. I always loved listening to violinists and have been going to concerts since I was 16. I finally decided to learn the instrument myself. I love it and cannot put it down. I wish I could play more, but back, nerve, and muscular problems limit me to an hour a day. Still, I am thankful for that hour!
