I'm sixteen years old, and I've been playing the violin for about four years. I really love it. It started when my dad restored my mom's old violin, and I decided I would like to learn how to play it. I came to that decision because at the time, I was reading through the Sherlock Holmes mysteries, and I admired how he played the violin! :) So my mom taught me the basics, and I got some books out from the library on how to play the violin. After a while, a family friend agreed to give me some informal lessons. I did that for about a year before I became more serious about wanting to play more and better, and so I got a more professional teacher. Right now I'm working in the Bruch Violin Concerto No. 1, and am loving it! I saw Itzhak Perlman play that piece in Tanglewood last year, so it is exciting to play something I saw him play! He's the bomb; hands down my favorite fiddler.
