My son, age 9, has been playing the violin since age 3.5 and our lives seem to revolve around music, music, music. He aims to be a conductor and soloist one day. He is presently working at a RCM grade 8 level. This past summer he had the opportunity to spend 4 weeks in the Summer String Program at the Jacob's School of Music in Indiana and study with Mimi Zweig. He is quite an independent learner for his age as his parents are NOT musicians. His violin learning so far has been quite a journey. We love reading the discussion board here as we learn so much about many aspects of violin playing.
