Derek Reeves

Derek Reeves began studying the violin at the age of 2/12 at the MacPhail Institute for Music in Bloomington, Minnesota. Early studies were with Vartan Manoogian, Laurence Shapiro and Rolland Vamos. Mr. Reeves attended Indiana University where he studied with Yuval Yaron and Franco Gulli. He also studied the viola with Csaba Erdelyi and Michael Strauss. Currently, Mr. Reeves is Principal Violist with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Orchestra. He makes his home in Fort Wayne with his wife Patricia, and their young son Preston.
