I went out this evening and purchased the violin! On the way there, I really began to realize just how much I wanted it, how much I really had fallen in love with it from the very start, and it's slowly starting to sink in that I have a new violin that I really love and everything. There are some things that I plan on doing with it that I haven't yet - replacing the bridge, trying out a new brand of strings, polishing the wood since there are some spots on it now - simply because of going back to school, but I think I'll do these things over the summer. I got a higher ebony chin rest as well, with the same height as the one on my old violin, but now it fits the ebony that's on my legs and tailpiece. So yeah! I'm very excited to start playing (especially our repertoire for our spring concert) with my new instrument, and the process in finding it went very smoothly. Thanks for reading!
Oh, I also made a video the other day that showcases my instrument. I hope it will help me develop a nice sound as I continue as a violinist and start lessons next fall!
