How can aquire Bruno Monsaingeon's video of Alexander Markov playing paganini's 24 caprices?
I made a VHS of the second part (13-24) as it was broadcasted on the french TV in 1993, and I really like it a lot ! As I am eager to have it on DVD, I asked last september on Markov's site, and got the answer that Warner would release it "next season". I asked again this March and got again the "next season release" answer.
I feel that if many of us ask for this DVD, there can be some push to have it effectively released "this season" ?

You might try Stephen Redrobe's wonderful site 'String Academy' which has tons of videos, old, new, and hard-to-find, free for download. I downloaded some of Markov's paganini stuff from there several years ago. Here's the link:

Alright gang the long-awaited moment has finally arrived. Markov's DVD of the Paganini Caprices has officially been released. It's actually being sold in the UK since the price is in pounds. I converted the $16.95 British price tag to $32.04 American dollars. Go here to buy:

Unfortunately I missed his performances at the Bard music festival last weekend.
I really don't care what some people say about him. I think Alexander Markov is a great violinist and he plays the Paganini Caprices in the spirit of Paganini.
I pre ordered my copy at www.kultur.com for 29.99.

It is available here in the US 9-26-2006.
In the meantime I picked up Itzhak Perlman's recording of the 24 Caprices and am finding myself continually floored.
I know this thread is pretty old but I just watched this DVD (3x) and enjoyed it a lot! It's tons-o-fun to watch these caprices being performed on stage.
