I just bought the new DVD - Stephane Grappelli, A Life In The Jazz Century and I have to tell you this is great stuff. Not only do you get to see clips of Grappelli playing over a span of 60 years, but you also get a glimpse into the life that he lived. There's also a short clip of the great (classically trained) jazz violinist Joe Venuti. Also included are interviews with Yehudi Menuhin and Nigel Kennedy about their experiences of playing with Grappelli. Menuhin is also shown in a TV performance of "Jealousy" with him. If you like jazz violin you'll love this 2 DVD set. Anybody else seen it?
Yup I have seen it! Its great!
I did a review for this DVD on Amazon but I can't figure out how to initiate a new DVD review on this site. Is there a trick I don't know?
Hi Rod,
Robert is working on a re-programming project for all reviews on this site. Until he finishes that, there is no way to submit a new item for review. But you can submit it as a new discussion topic...Sorry for the inconvenience!
