October 18, 2014 at 02:37 AM · This is a great exhibition! I bought the 2013 Tres Amigos from Julie and it really is akin to a Strad.

October 18, 2014 at 12:20 PM · I hope to go tomorrow morning about 11, if anyone would like to join me. Then across town at 3 is a memorial to David Nadien at the Lincoln Center Library, Bruno Walter Auditorium. - B'way near W. 65th St.

For those who don't know, a "Tres Amigos" violin is one made by the Antoine Nedelec, Jeff Phillips, and Ryan Soltis team of makers.

October 20, 2014 at 08:58 PM · I indeed went to both of the events I mentioned above. I had such an interesting time that I'm writing a new blog about it. Stay tuned!

October 22, 2014 at 10:28 PM · Great show indeed!

October 23, 2014 at 02:04 AM · I finished my blog on this and another violin event I attended on Sunday. Hope to have it up in the blog section soon!

October 24, 2014 at 06:10 PM · Thanks for clarifying that, David!

They seem to be quite the power team. Jeff Phillips made the top on my particular one, Antoine Nedelec made the back and ribs, and Ryan Soltis made the scroll. They then assembled it at Oberlin and Ryan took it to his shop to varnish it. They then met again at Ryan's shop and antiqued it together. What an amazing job they did!
