The Week in Reviews, Op. 504: María Dueñas, Jennifer Koh, Randall Goosby

María Dueñas performed Korngold’s Violin Concerto with the Teatro Real Orchestra and David Afkham at Carnegie Hall.

Jennifer Koh performed J.S. Bach’s complete Sonatas and Partitas for solo violin Sunday at the Kennedy Center Terrace Theater.

Randall Goosby performed Florence Price’s Violin Concerto No. 2 with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Sir Mark Elder.

• Chicago Classical Review: "Playing with a sweet, slender tone and ingratiating, communicative style, the violinist was fully in synch with Price’s intimate nostalgia and light virtuosity"

Johan Dalene performed Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Antonello Manacorda.

• Northampton Chronicle and Echo: "An incredible young talent, Johan delivered a breathtaking performance on violin, showcasing the instrument’s solo power but also sensitively conveying softer, more balanced and almost conversational passages with the rest of the orchestra."

Vadim Gluzman, Julian Rhee, Hina Khuong-Huu, Atar Arad the Ariel Quartet and others performed with the North Shore Chamber Music Festival.
