In an effort to promote the coverage of live violin performance, Violinist.com each week presents links to reviews of notable concerts and recitals around the world.

Vadim Gluzman performed Vivaldi’s "The Four Seasons" with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra at Blossom Music Center.
- Cleveland.com: "In every moment where it counted, Gluzman was the consummate showman, dazzling his thousands of listeners with soaring pyrotechnics, rapid-fire figures, and bold, commanding statements. Yet he also was the consummate poet, infusing slower, lyrical lines with tremendous feeling readily evocative of a still winter day, cool autumn morning, or calm after a summer storm."
Randall Goosby performed a Tiny Desk Concert with pianist Zhu Wang.
- NPR (watch it here): "With his secure technique, natural phrasing, gorgeous tone and smart programming, Randall Goosby has everything it takes to craft a major career."
Anne-Sophie Mutter performed the Beethoven Violin Concerto with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra at the Salzburg Festival.
- Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: "Her playing was so relaxed at times as to come off emotionally flat — beautiful, but without drive. This is purely a matter of taste, as I prefer more spunk and determination in the concerto’s opening movement."
The Amernet String Quartet performed works by Beethoven, Chausson, Franck, and Saint-Saëns.
- Boston Musical Intelligencer: "The foursome drew us in with its fiercely intelligent reading (of Beethoven's String Quartet No. 6 in B-flat Major, Op. 18, No. 6) which covered a lot of musical and spiritual distance."

As from ~ Carrier of the Heifetz-Milstein Violin Playing/ Mentoring Legacy {#3}
Really!!! And could the Music Reviewer of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, perform Ludwig van Beethoven's ethereal plus Violin Concerto with more 'spunk' in the opening Mvt -a holy sublime slow movement + 3rd which few artists inhabit with exceptions of both of my fabled Violin Mentor's, Heifetz & Nathan Milstein, and which rare artist - musician, Anne-Sophie Mutter, has also entered with a Beethoven profundity sadly 'foreign' to many still stuck in the virtuoso violinist-public-displays ranks?!
This portion of The Review needs to be quoted within its full context before one actually rings an Editor of said newspaper! Perhaps Editor, Violinist.com, Laurie Niles, will request the full
newspaper Review, for those of us truly interested to see and again, in its full context?!
A Word: As my Icon Master Violinist Mentor, Nathan Milstein, once told me in his Chester Square Teach home in London ~
"Never believe what you read in the newspapers, Elisabeth!!" 'Me Thinks' Mr. Milstein's wise words hold firm & most true at this time re Pittsburg P-G circa 2022, long past 30 Years plus ago ...
Respectfully submitted for all & Editor LN consideration,

September 7, 2022 at 06:40 AM · Recommendation! Do not bypass the NPR Randall Goosby/Zhu Wang concert! The Dvorak Sonatina was on the piano in the Dvorak Museum in Prague when I visited it in 2000. A beautiful little work, full of the composer's natural lyricism.
