I built a violin practice tracker app for iOS - feedback welcome
I've been developing iOS apps and recently released one aimed specifically at violinists: Violin Practice Log.The idea came from frustration with generic timer apps. Practice has structure -- you're not just logging "60 minutes with the violin," you're working on scales, Kreutzer etudes, a specific concerto passage, intonation drills. I wanted something that reflected that.
The app lets you break practice into named areas (fully customizable), set daily time goals per area, log sessions, and see weekly/monthly/all-time stats. There's also a built-in chromatic tuner with standard violin tuning preset (GDAE) as a reference.
It won't replace a good teacher, but it does give you a clear picture of where your time actually goes -- which for a lot of people is eye-opening.
$3.99 on the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6759753996
Curious whether others here track practice formally, and what you use. Happy to answer questions about how it works.
