Info on Chicago Violin Company (2)

October 2, 2025, 3:00 AM · I’d like to share a few words about the Chicago Violin Company, which came up in a discussion here a couple of years ago (07/17/2023). Contrary to what was suggested in that thread, this is not a questionable or misleading firm.

I personally know Mr. Jarvis Tseng, who partnered with the renowned Carl Becker & Son in Chicago during the 2000s. Together, they successfully established the Becker shop in Taiwan. Alongside that venture, they created a line of high-quality yet affordable instruments under the name Chicago Violin Company.

I’ve had the opportunity to play their Clybourn model, and I was genuinely impressed. The violins are clear, resonant, well-balanced, and responsive, with a strong core — exactly the qualities one expects from a fine instrument.
