To my great surprise, I’ve just noticed that the center joint on the top plate of my violin has opened along a section of about 10–12 cm right under the fingerboard. This is shocking to me, since the instrument is less than a year old! I’ve never experienced anything like this before.
It’s quite an expensive violin, and honestly, this is not what I expected… :(
On top of that, the varnish seems rather soft, so I’m worried it might get damaged during the repair as well.
What could be the cause of this???
