ChinCello (viola octave) strings are back!

Edited: September 8, 2025, 2:15 PM · When D'Adario purchased SuperSensitive, they decided not to continue the Sensicore line of strings, as the best selling Sensicores were essentially the same as perlon core strings they already had developed and sold at much higher volumes. A good decision from a business standpoint, but it also orphaned many players of the specialty instruments that relied on the novelty Sensicores. One of the fatalities was the Octave Viola strings. This was a death sentence for all of the ChinCello players who relied on this unique string set..

Good news! In cooperation wi9th D'Adaario, Prodigio Strings in Niles, MI, is now making ChinCello strings. Being steel core, they are not as muddy as the Sensicores were, much more responsive, and don't break at the ball like the Senswicires did.
