Does anyone have sheet music (for solo violin, preferably) to Dance of the Haymakers by Purcell (from the Fairy Queen)? I heard Menuhin play this on a Purcell CD and really want to play it too.
There is Purcell sheet music at www.icking-music-archive.org

July 22, 2005 at 09:57 AM · I have Purcell's Sonata in G minor for Violin and Continuo. Amazingly it is all in first position, and I really enjoy playing it. I would recommend it. I have a Hinrichsen edition, but also Oxford Uni Press do one I believe.
I tried to get a violinist recording of it but was only able to get a Recorder version! So good luck in getting recordings. Let me know if you buy it and play it since I never hear anyone talk/write about it. Cheers
