Hi. I have been playing the violin for about 6 or 7 months now. I have had an extreme amount of trouble finding a decent teacher in my area. But thats a different animal.
Ive been playing out of a great beginner book called "esential elements 2000" I love this book OVER the suzuki books.
Anyways The book did a great job on explaining where the notes were on a my violin except for the ledger lines! I will post a picture of some of the common notes I am seeing in some of the basic classical songs I am working on. Can you help me figure out which string to play it on? I am on a four string violin. Tuning G D A E
Here is a link to a picture of the notes that have me stumped.

I was wondering if the higher ones were played on the "E" string and if the lower ones were played on the "G" string?
It seemed to make sense in my head but I am a noob so.
~Thanks for reading!~
The lower 3 are 1st finger on G, High 2nd finger on G and 3rd finger on G. The higher notes are 3rd finger on E, 4th finger on E and either extended 4 on E or 3 in third position. hope that helps

First three notes (low A-B-C) are fingers 1-3 on G string.
High A-B-C are 3rd position E string (fingers 1-3), so you dont need to learn shifting if you just started out,
Based on the picture associated with David's profile, definitely G string.
Thanks guys!
@Paul - Yes I was more inclined to play or snap this string. :) If you like her, she is half human/vampire from a video game called "Blood Rayne"
But thats off topic. Not that this needs to be discussed anymore seeing as its resolved

That's correct!
