We have European folk music in some methods, American in others. We have student music written in hungarian style (brahms transcriptions), israeli style (g. perlman), and probably others. I have a several Asian students, and I just thought it would be neat if I could find some music that reflected that heritage. Anybody know of any?
Here is another popular one. Not sure where to find the sheet music though.
Thanks guys! Some cool pieces!
However...um...anybody know of anything easier? :) by student I mean like the level of the kuchler and seitz and huber concertos. Mostly first and third position, that type of thing :)
This one is more manageable, and would be a good piece if the kids would like to play something for Chinese New Year:
I'll head out to see if I can find some Asian violin sheet music when I have a chance now that you got me interested. :)
Greetings from Taipei, and Happy Chinese New Year! :)
Ah Joyce, that piece is so fun! I learned that when I was in elementary school for a end-of-year festival for the Irvine Chinese School. ;) No idea where the music went though...
