I'm looking for a duet for a violin and acoustic guitar. Does anyone know of one that exists? My friend and I would like to learn it :)
Try searching youtube for violin and guitar for lots of ideas.
Here is one of my personal favorites.
I believe Paganini's Cantabile is originally for violin and guitar. It's not as difficult as the name Paganini suggests -- honestly.
there are great pieces from Paganini & Giuliani in this CD: Duos for Violin and Guitar

The Paganini pieces require a good violinist, to be sure. The guitar often only plays chords in the left hand with (sometimes very fast) arpeggios in the right hand, if I recall.
There are some sonatas by Legnani that are decent and not as difficult as the Paganini. I think there might be some Leclair duets as well. The Handel violin sonata in A is available with guitar accompaniment.
Lots of flute/guitar music will work very well. Try "The Rosewood Book," which has a variety of composers, for some pleasant, mostly lightweight (compared to multi-movement works) pieces. Guitarist Mauro Giuliani wrote some decent pieces for flute and guitar, possibly some violin/guitar as well.
