Has anyone ever taken part in the Tanglewood 2-week String Quartet program? If so, I'd be really interested in hearing your thoughts on it- what you liked about it, what you didn't like about it, etc.
Also, if anyone has any suggestions for other intensive chamber music camps, I'd like to hear those as well.
Thanks!
Also, you might consider the Garth Newel Music Center in Virginia and Madeline Island Music Camp.
thanks for the suggestions! would love to hear any others, as well
I don't know anybody who's attended the quartet program, but many of my friends went to the Orchestra program there. They said that it's an utterly exhilarating experience, that each day there, they seem to make a week's progress.
I heard that the food is horrible, though.

I never attended the Quartet Seminar, but I studied with Bayla Keyes for four years. If you have the opportunity to work with her, take it. She is an amazingly communicative and very intelligent chamber musician and coach, and is deeply knowledgeable about the violin. I have heard nothing but good things about the BUTI Quartet Seminar.
