Nice double concerto that is not too hard by Dittersdorf for viola and bass, that I think was transcribed as well for violin and bass.  And there is a virtuoso Grand Duo Concertante by Bottesini.  Both can be found on YouTube.

I just picked up "Duo No. 2 for Violin & Bass" by Frank Proto. You can find it at:  http://www.liben.com/duono2vndb.html

It's not easy but after hearing the recording I'm determined to play it! By the way the same CD has a new Sonata for Violin & Piano by the same composer that sounds like it would be fun to work on. He really knows how to write for strings! I found it at: http://www.liben.com/9233.html
