Concerto Help

March 30, 2003 at 02:30 AM · Hello All,

I am in the process of picking a concerto, but am having a hard time deciding, or actually finding one that not only suits my playing style and is fun to play, but also one that will challenge me. I'm geared more toward romantic, expressive, passionate, showy, and intense music, and my teacher says that she sees me playing the Lalo "Symphonie Espagnole". Lalo isn't my favorite. Can you suggest any concerti of approximately that level? Also, where does Khatchaturian fall into the mix?

Thanks for the help!
