Free piano accompaniment mp3 files

July 25, 2009 at 08:33 PM ·

I recorded some piano accompaniment to some of my favorite parlor violin pieces.  I had previously posted them as midi files.  I recently found how to convert them to mp3 so they are now available for free download in mp3 format also.

would be cool if it was an actual pianist!

I just added some guitar accompaniments for some of the tunes on the Advanced Fiddling by Craig Duncan book. I also slowed some of the faster tunes down by 50 percent in addition to the regular speed. Please feel free to check them out if you want to play with backup but don't have a guitar player around. Not every tune in the book is included, but most of the good ones are. ~ Tom

The fiddle tunes are in the last row in the table.

The only problem is that there is no delay before the beginning of the midi so it's hard to click play and immediately have my violin ready...

You can download the free audio editor Audacity and add a gap at the start of the file. Once you figure it out, it will only take a few seconds per file.

[Being greedy here]

Am I the only one who finds it hard to play with a recorded accompaniment? It might be the pieces I'm working on but I find it very difficult to synchronize my playing to the piano - I guess I'm spoiled and expect it to be the othe rway round (which is why the piano has the full score!
