Valeri Speights

After some time away to focus on her health, Valeri is returning to the stage with a new vision for her art as a classical violinist. Valeri Speights is a Houston-based musician who has played with the Latin Philharmonic of Houston, the Woodlands Symphony, and the Conroe Symphony.

Valeri is an alumna of the Saarburg International Chamber Music Festival, the Interlochen Center for the Arts Summer Festival, Musica Montin, and the MasterWorks Festival. She has served as a faculty member of the Woodlands Chamberfest and a guest conductor for the Conroe Youth Symphony. In addition to studying with violinists such as Dylana Jenson and Zachary Carrettin, she gained a BFA in Violin Performance through Sam Houston State University. Valeri currently serves as an officer of the American Federation of Musicians through the Houston Professional Musicians’ Association.

Over more than 10 years as a private instructor, Valeri cultivated a student-centered approach to classical training that honors individual learning styles. Her neurodivergent-friendly practice strategies invite students to explore the violin in a way that’s fun, motivating, and grounded in strong technique. Students can expect thoughtful challenges designed to build confidence, skill, and musical independence.

At present, Valeri is preparing a recital series exploring the concepts of death and vitality through the unaccompanied violin.
