MinJung Kang

Violinist MinJung Kang has appeared throughout Asia, North America and Europe. In addition to appearances in television features and a documentary film in South Korea, her live and recorded radio performances have been broadcast in many other countries. She is the member of the Morpheus Sting Quartett and Piano Trio and has collaborated with leaders of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. She has won many first prizes and top prizes including the ARD, Munich- Taipei-, Postacchini-, Dong-A- and the Concert Artists Guild New York- competitions. Ms. Kang is the recipient of the Wun-Pa Music Prize and the Sydney Friedberg Prize. Born in Seoul, she began her violin studies at age six and continued with Nam-Yun Kim, Ik-Hwan Bae and Sung-Ju Lee. She earned Master’s and Artist Diploma degrees at the Peabody Conservatory of Music under Victor Danchenko. Herman Krebbers and Ana Chumachenco are Ms. Kang’s influential mentors. Currently, she is teaching at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover, Germany, where she studied in the Soloklassen with Krzysztof Wegrzyn.
