Hsueh Chih-Chang Violin

1974 Born in Taiwan,Hsueh Chih-Chang gave his first recital at age of seventeen,two years after his first violin lesson.In 1992,he enrolled in Taipei National University of Arts,where he studied under Professors Lim Kek-Tjiang and Su Cheng-Tu.During his studies,he became concertmaster and one of the founders of the Kuan-Du Chamber Orchestra. In 1998,he won first prize in the Concerto Competition held by the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra .Two years later,Hsueh was invited to perform Brahms’ Violin Concerto with Taipei University of Arts Orchestra .The performance was recorded and published.
In 2000,Hsueh went to Germany to further his studies at Hochschule für Musik Detmold,under the guidance of the renowned Italian violinist Marco Rizzi.He was awarded the Künstlerische Diplom in 2003 and then immediately enrolled in Konzertexam course.He was invited by the world-known violist Nobuko Imai to be her chamber music partner in Detmold, works by Bach,Brahms,Mozart and Dvorak were performed
.
During his Germany period he worked as principal of 2nd violin in the Landestheater Detmold.

Hsueh Chih-Chang won first prize in both the Taipei National University of Arts Strings Competition and in the 2nd Taiwan Concerto Competition.He was also a semi-finalist in the 36th Tibor Varga International Violin Competition held in Switzerland.As a soloist he has performed concertos by Bach,Vivaldi,Sibelius,Brahms,Mendelssohn,Mozart,Beethoven,etc. with different Orchestras both in Asia and Germany.

Hsueh has been concertmaster or section principal in numerous symphony orchestras.From November 2003 to April 2005 Hsueh served as Assistant Concertmaster of the Macao Orchestra and
From April 2006 is the concertmaster of National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra.
