ANNA BACON

Anna Bacon was born in London, studied at the Royal College of Music and Cambridge University obtaining an MA Honours degree. At Cambridge she appeared as a soloist and performed at several concerts including with Emmanuel College Choir. Anna has been teaching (violin, piano and theory) for many years to children aged 4-17 and adults from beginner to diploma level. She has tutored the violin section of the National Children’s Orchestra of Great Britain and several of her pupils have been awarded music scholarships to top independent schools and places in the National Children’s Orchestra of GB. She successfully prepares pupils for their ABRSM exams with a 100% success rate for pupils being awarded either Merit or Distinction.

Anna has performed at venues such as the Barbican, St. John’s Smith Square and Royal Albert Hall under the batons of Keith Lockhart, Volodymyr Syvokhip, Adrian Brown, John Landor, Anastasios Strikos and Tim Garrard. As a 1st violinist Anna regularly performs with I Maestri Orchestra, London Concert Sinfonia, Albion Chamber Orchestra and Liudkevych String Orchestra of London. Anna also sings with Westminster Choral Society. She regularly attends Master classes at the Royal College of Music and Royal Academy of Music, including classes with Nicola Benedetti, Ivry Gitlis, Alina Ibramigova, Gyorky Pauk, Maxim Vengerov and Pinchas Zukerman. Anna has 2 sons of her own, both violinists, and therefore appreciates the needs of both children and adults. She is a passionate advocate for music and believes music unites us and can be enjoyed by all children no matter what their ability level is.

Anna is a member of the Music Teachers Association
